This class teaches some of the basic skills that every construction craft laborer should have. It covers new construction, demolition and land clearing. The class is mostly hands-on learning with an emphasis on safety. Included in the class are:

• Oxygen/acetylene cutting
• Air tools (e.g., chipping gun, pavement breakers, etc.)
• Electric tools (e.g., sawsall, roto-hammer, etc.)
• Power tools (e.g., power-actuated, chainsaws, etc.)
• Sandblasting
• General and electrical safety
• PPE - hearing, eye, head, toe protection (including repetitive motion)
• Soil compaction and equipment
